"How the Franco-German TV channel ARTE covered the Independence March. Alarm, because Poland's right wing is young, beautiful, and educated," writes journalist and commentator Aleksandra Fedorska, a contributor to the tysol.pl portal, publishing the footage.
"Young Polish women and men want to take part in the grand Independence March, organized by the nationalist right. They can easily identify with this year's motto, 'One Nation — A Strong Poland,'" we hear in the ARTE report.
The Franco-German TV channel spoke in its report with activists from the All-Polish Youth, who clearly oppose, among other things, illegal immigration from countries culturally alien to Poland.
"A seventeen-year-old schoolgirl wants marriage to continue to be seen exclusively as a union between a man and a woman, and in her eyes considers abortion to be murder," the ARTE reporter recounts.
"How the Franco-German TV channel ARTE covered the Independence March. Alarm, because Poland's right wing is young, beautiful, and educated," writes journalist and commentator Aleksandra Fedorska, a contributor to the tysol.pl portal.
It should be recalled that on November 11, 2025, the German daily Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung published an article stating that the Independence March attracts "right-wing radicals, abortion opponents, homophobes, and antisemites, whose belligerent behavior and hate slogans also shape its image."
This is not the first time German media have defamed the Independence March. Such media campaigns occur essentially every year around the time of the event. "Poland in a Nationalist Frenzy" (Der Tagesspiegel), "Independence Day: Radicalism Becomes Mainstream in Poland" (zeit.de), "Poland for the Poles" (Frankfurter Rundschau), "Tens of Thousands Demand 'Poland for the Poles'" (Die Welt), "Polish Nationalists Demonstrate Against Foreigners" (Deutsche Welle), "Poland's Right Marches Against the EU and Islam" (Berliner Zeitung), "Anti-foreigner Protests in Warsaw" (tagesschau.de) — these are the headlines under which German media have in the past reported on Poland's Independence Day celebrations.
The Süddeutsche Zeitung, for its part, denounced manifestations of anti-democratic nationalism, while the Tageszeitung thundered about a catastrophe for Polish democracy. And apparently, little has changed on this front among our western neighbors.
